Biography

Justiliano Lozada Y Medina was born on 16 October 1919 in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico to Pascual Lozada Y Diaz and Bruna Medina Y López.[1] He married Jesusa Velazquez and had two sons, Benjamin and David.[2][3] Their son Benjamin was born in March of 1947 and according to the Lozada Public Family Tree on Ancestry.com appears to be the younger child, so they were probably married in the early 1940s.[4] Early on in the marriage he probably continued his work as a farm laborer to support his family.[5] He served as a Private in Light Weapons infantry in the Korean War where he was “seriously wounded in action by missile” on 10 April 1951, but was able to be returned to duty.[6] They probably moved to Humacao in the early sixties; Justiliano was a warehouse clerk for the government of Puerto Rico from 1964 until he retired in 1982.[7] Jesusa died at their home of a brain tumor on 1 June 1989.[8] His son Benjamin died in San Juan on 21 April 1990.[9] Justiliano died on 24 February 1992 in Humacao, Puerto Rico from a heart attack, and a pulmonary embolism complicated by diabetes and bronchial asthma. He was buried with his wife in the Cementario Municipal de Las Piedras[10]
