Lorraine Esther LaDuke (1933 - 2014)
Lorraine Esther LaDuke, 80, long-time resident of Oakridge, Oregon, left us to join her Savior on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. She was born on May 22, 1933 in Bremerton, Washington to Dale Luark and Ivah Britten. In 1959, she married Donald LaDuke of Oakridge, Oregon, who survives her.
She is survived also by her son, Barry LaDuke, of Milwaukie, Oregon; twin daughters: Kim Matthews of Springfield, Oregon, and Kellie Pemberton of Wakarusa, Indiana; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, David Allen LaDuke, who died at birth.
Lorraine will be fondly remembered as open and approachable, one who could converse with total strangers as though they were life-long friends - which upon meeting her, they would then likely become. And if she knew you, she was praying for you. She considered it a sacred calling to intercede with God on behalf of others.
Being married to a renowned fisherman, whose record-setting fish once hung in the local sporting goods store, she wore the title of "Fisherman's Wife" as proudly as that of "Prayer Warrior." She was also an effective fisherwoman in her own right. Baited her own hook, too.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00am at the Assembly of God Church in Oakridge, Oregon.
Major Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
