Ann Lucas was born on 25 Oct 1834, and christened on 30 Nov 1834 at Rainford Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. She was the daughter of John and Margaret Lucas. Her father's occupation was recorded as farmer, and the family's address as Knowsley.
By June 6th 1841, the family was living in Catchey Moss, Eccleston; John was a farmer. There were three agricultural labourers and a female servant also in the household.
Ann's mother died in 1850, and was buried on 16 May 1850 at Rainford Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire; her age was recorded as 43, and her address as St Helens.
By March 30th 1851, the family was living in Westfield Street, Eccleston; Ann's father was a carter. Ann was a housekeeper.
