Biography
Samuel was born about 1746.
There is a marriage record in Gloucester between Sarah Gibson (b. 1758) and Samuel Lucas on 24 July 1774. Thomas Gibson was a witness. [1] No mention is made of him being a widower or not.
Samuel and wife Sarah baptised the following daughters in Gloucester, Gloucestershire;
- 1772 Mary (baptised in Thornbury)
- 1776 Susan
- 1779 Nancy (Ann)
- 1784 Hannah
He passed away aged about 46 in 1792 and was buried in Thornbury on 25 February. [2]
Research Notes
A Thomas Lucas was appointed to the office of Clerk in Thornbury Parish on 22nd November 1751. [3]
In 1772 Hannah Lucas, wife of Samuel was buried in Thornbury. [4]
