Biography

Per the Tamworth Daily Observer in 1917:[1]

MAITLAND CIRCUIT COURT.
MAITLAND, Friday.
The Circuit Court opened at East Maitland Court House this morning before Mr. Justice Sly.
Amy Rose Hannah Wells (formerly Lucas), applied for a dissolution of her marriage with Amos Wells, on the ground of misconduct with Hilda Bariwick at Armidale, Gunnedah, and West Maitland. There was no appearance of the respondent.
Petitioner, who resides at Muswellbrook. was married to tho respondent who was a laborer at Manilla on November; 28, 1898, according to the rites of the Methodist Ohurch. On December 13 1915, respondent enlisted and went into camp at Narrabri. They were then living at Warialda.
Has Honor found the issue of adultery at Gunnedah proved.
