On 25 Jul 1860 at the time of the 1860 US Census, head of household Silas P. Luce (age 45, born in OH) was employed as a Farmer and living on real estate valued at $2,400 with personal estate valued at $575 in Smelser, Grant, Wisconsin with his wife Nancy Luce (age 41, born in KY): daughter Mary S. Luce (age 17, born in IL); son James O. Luce (age 15, born in WI); son Joseph E. Luce (age 11, born in IL); son Benjamin F. Luce (age 9, born in WI); daughter Narcissa Luce (age 7, born in WI); son Rudolph R. Luce (age 5, born in WI); son Silas P. Luce (age 10 months, born in WI); and mother-in-law Nancy Wayne (age 82, born in VA). [1]

Death and Legacy

On 16 Apr 1923, Benjamin Franklin Luce died at age 72 in Aurora County, South Dakota, USA. Bejamin was buried at White Lake Cemetery in White Lake, Aurora County, South Dakota, USA. [2]
