Tompkins County, NY Ithaca Daily Journal, pg. 6 June 13, 1908 DR. EDWARD P. LUCE -Former Ithacan Dies at Bayonne, N.J., the Result of a Fall- Word was received in the city this morning of the death of Dr. Edward P. Luce. The death occurred at this home in Bayonne, N.J., last night, and was caused by blood poisoning, which resulted from injuries received in a fall. Dr. Luce was born in Ithaca, on West Hill, 71 years ago. He began the practice of medicine in the village of Danby, where now lives his brother, Chester Luce. About 20 years ago he left Danby and located in a mining town in Pennsylvania. Later he went to Bayonne and enjoyed considerable prominence in his profession. In his immediate family Dr. Luce is survived by his wife, and four children, William, Harry, and Edna, and Mrs. George Smith, all of whom live in Bayonne. He was a brother-in-law of Mrs. William Frear, of West Green street, George Hopkins, of West Hill, and Amos Hopkins, of Willow Creek. The funeral service will be held at the home in Bayonne on Monday evening and the burial will be made on Tuesday morning.
