On 13 May 1826 he married Harriet N. Wait[1] in Springfield, MA.[3] The couple would have eight children in their 65 years of marriage.[1][4]
He would spend most of his adult life farming in the vicinity of New Albion, NY. He passed away on 13 Feb 1892[2] in New Albion,[5] and is buried in the Snyder Hill Cemetery in Cattaraugus, New York.[2]
Research Notes
Although the marriage record[3] shows the grooms given and surname, the date, the location and the brides given name, the brides surname is shown as "Charter."
When their daughter, Francelia, married John Adams, the mother's maiden name is shown as Wait.[6]Was she previously married and one of the surnames is actually a married name from that first marriage? Was there two Lucas Luce's married to a Harriet?
