Biography

OBITUARY: Mary Edna Sanchez, age 90, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 26, 2018. She was a lifelong resident of Alameda, NM.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Eloy Sanchez; her parents, Andres and Matilda Lucero; grandson, Randy Gutierrez; Son-in-law, Gilbert Gutierrez; sisters, Dometilia Padilla and Cecilia Barela; and her brother, Ruben Lucero. Mary Edna is survived by her son, Lee Sanchez and his wife Belinda and her beloved granddaughters, Julianne and BrandiLee all of the family home; daughter, Sally Gutierrez; sons, Bobby Sanchez and wife Becky, Alex Sanchez and wife Sandy; 3 other beloved grandchildren, Matthew Gutierrez and wife Joy, Rosanne Sanchez and fiancé Jacob and Robert Sanchez; 5 great-grandchildren, Justine Gutierrez and boyfriend Patrick Saiz, Joseph Gutierrez, Johnathan C de Baca, Jazmine Gutierrez, and Janae Sanchez; and 4 great-great-grandchildren, Jeramiah Saiz, Isaac Saiz, Dominic Saiz, and Lorelei Rodarte. Also surviving is her sister, Dolores Sanchez. Mary Edna will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose lives she touched.

On behalf of the family they wish to acknowledge and thank her loving relative and caretaker, Rosie Apodaca and her husband Louie. Mary Enda's wishes were to give recognition to Evelyn Harris, Cordie Mora, Tina Lopez, Virginia Padilla, Viola Montoya, Esther Barela, and Sandra Barela.

Visitation will be Monday, July 2, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services ~ Alameda Mortuary, 9420 Fourth St., NW, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final Viewing will be Tuesday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. also in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services ~ Alameda Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 Fourth St., NW. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Pall Bearers will be Lee Sanchez, Bobby Sanchez, Alex Sanchez, Joe Sanchez, Rudy Martinez, and Paul Tafoya.
