Michael H. Luckhardt came from Kasperhauser, Kurhessin, Germany. He came on the ship "Caroline" on October 16, 1856 with a brother, Jacob, through the port of New York and settled in Lodi Township, Michigan as a farmer. Their sisters, Elizabetha Luckhardt came to Michigan from Germany on April 22, 1863, on the ship ‘Sir Robert Peel’again arriving into NYC. Elizabetha traveled with her younger sister, Christina Luckhardt. The two sisters later married brothers, George and Henry Schroen, who had arrived in America with Michael and Jacob Luckhardt in 1856.
The future generations of Luckhardts settled and remained in the Saline, Michigan area.
