LUCY-MILLER.-On the 20th December, at St. Stephen's Church, Willunga, by the bride's father, Alfred Everard, eldest son of Ralph Everard Lucy, Esq., of H.M. Civil Service, to Isabel (sic) Ann, second daughter of the Rev. E. K. Miller,of Willunga. No cards.

Alfred died in Unley, South Australia on 5 September 1927 at the age of 73 years.[5] The following death notice was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Register, on 7 September 1927:[6]

LUCY.— On the 5th September, at 27 Edmund avenue, Unley, Alfred Everard, dearly beloved husband of Isabel A. Lucy, and eldest son of the late Ralph Everard Lucy.

Alfred's remains were cremated at the West Terrace Cemetery in Adelaide, South Australia on 7 September 1927, and were later interred at the North Road Cemetery in Nailsworth, South Australia.[7][8]

The following obituaries was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Register, on 9 September 1927 and on 13 September 1927:[9][10]

Mr. Alfred Everade (sic) Lucy died at his residence, 23 Edmund avenue, Unley, on Monday, at the age of 73 years. The late Mr. Lucy, who was the eldest son of the late Mr. Ralph Everard Lucy, was in the employ of the Adelaide and Suburban Tramway Company for 27 years, and subsequently worked for the Municipal Tramways Trust. He retired in 1911. He was a member of the Emulation Masonic Lodge, Norwood, and had resided at Kensington for many years. The widow, two sons— Messrs. L. E. and H E. Lucy— and two daughters— Mrs. A. Jeffrey and Miss E. V. Lucy— survive.
Regret was expressed in Yankalilla and district at the recent death of Mr. A. E. Lucy, of Edmund avenue, Unley. Mr. and Mrs. Lucy had lived for some time on a property out from Normanville, on the road to Second Valley, where they built a handsome modern home. They were then regular attendants at Christ Church, Yankalilla, and in the time of the Rev. H. J. Lovibond (1910-1914) presented the church with iron standards and altar rails. These latter were afterwards exquisitely inlaid by Mr. George Roads, the veteran carpenter of Yankalilla, then in his eighties. Mr. and Ms. Lucy left the district to reside in Unley. Mrs. Lucy is a daughter (of) the late Rev. E. K. Miller, first head master of Pulteney Grammar School, and later incumbent of Willunga.
