William Ludden was married to a descendant of the immigrants William Beardsley and Mary Harvie.

William Robinson Ludden was born on January 9, 1900 in Auburn, Androscoggin, Maine, United States, son of Forest Edwin Ludden (1867–1952) and Elizabeth Robinson (~1875– ).^[1]

William enlisted as a Private in the S A T C Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Cumberland, Maine on 8 Oct 1918 and receiving an honorable discharge on 14 Dec 1918.

William registered for the draft for World War I. ^[2]

William (22) married Muriel F Beardsley (22) (born on May 21, 1900 in Niagara, New York, United States) on December 25, 1922 in Binghamton, Broome, New York. They divorced before 1930.

William (31) married Dorothy M Barry (20) (born on September 21, 1910 in Maine) on June 20, 1931 in Maine.
