Biography

Arson New South Wales Police Gazette and Weekly Record of Crime (Sydney) 19 Jul 1865 Sometime during the night of the 6th or morning of the 7th instant, a slab hut at Erskine Park, near St. Mary's, the property of James Luke, farmer, was destroyed by fire. A man named John Harding had been employed reparing the lvut, and left it safe at sunset on the 6th instant. At an inquest held before George Thomas Clarke, Esq, Coroner, the following verdict was returned: —" That there is no evidence to shew whether the hut was accidentally or willfully burned."
