George Cilo Luke was born on the 18th of December 1854 and baptised on the 31st of December 1854 in the parish of Aberdalgie, Perthshire, Scotland.
He and his family were still in Scotland at the time of the 1861 Census of Scotland where they were enumerated in Campsie, Stirlingshire, Scotland.
George migrated from Scotland in 1862 on the "Marco Polo" with parents and siblings, arriving 12 January 1863. His brother David Marco Polo Luke was born at sea on that voyage.[1]
George and his family lived the rest of his life in Yapeen, Victoria, Australia where he worked variously as a labourer and miner. He passed away in 1940 in Yapeen, Victoria at the age of 84.
