Margaret was born in 1886[1] in Hambleton, Yorkshire, England, where she lived with her parents, Samuel May Lund and Elizabeth Marsden.[2]
At the time of the 1901 census "Maggie" worked as a domestic servant for the Tunningley family in Hambleton.[3]
Margaret married James Waddingham, after banns were read in Eastrington, Yorkshire, in 1904.[4][5] In 1911 the family lived in Hambleton, where James worked as a "horse labourer."[6]
