Not a problem. With all the duplicates it would have been easily to do. A lot of people do not realize either that people used to re-use names if a child died young.

Hey Jeanne, Thanks for checking re: the two Mercy Beals. No, they are different. Looks like I started the profile and "lost it." I'll go add parents, etc. now. Thanks again! Janis

Hello Jeanne!

Welcome to the New Netherland Settlers Project. Please visit our FAQ and feel free to ask any questions you may have. If you're looking for your ancestors that might already be on Wikitree, check out our Immigrants and Progenitors page, though it is not quite complete and does not reflect all of the profiles that already exist.

Cheers! Carrie

Ah the vagaries of genealogy research keep throwing me curves. I am anxiously awaiting information being sent by (gasp) snail mail which may effectively chop off several generations of my hard-won Bates ancestry. A new brick wall to deal with. Sniff Sniff, sob sob. Oh well. I'll be more help when I get my computer repaired--if that is even possible.

I love the name and place studies!

You're welcome my sweet cousin! I'm determined to crack this mystery. It may take me forever but eventually I'll do it. I won't give up. That's why I started the name study and have been using the county categories. By keeping everyone separated it's easy to just click on a county and see how the family lines evolved and expanded. Doing that can help us find out "who's yer daddy!"  :D And, I'm still trying to figure out when your Nick lived in Arkansas. Because MY John A. Lunn had a son John T. Lunn (and a son named Nicholas Green Lunn) who moved to AR and raised a family there. So maybe he lived with them?
