William was born in 1848. He passed away about 1935.

Family History and Tradition pointed to William Greene as the father of James Floyd. Records were non exact in spelling out James Floyd. The Census records show a J.C. Lunsford born in 1874. The last Brother Joseph G was born the year of the last Census record known in the 1800's. ON the 1880 Census (the year he is born) he is not listed. The conclusion being that Margeret was pregnant with him at the time of Census. In 1888 Margaret dies and then William marries Mary L and goes on to have another set of children.
No other Male in the line appearing as a JC is found then we have James Floyd. One would assume that the Census taking was done wrong in 1880 or that the spelling wrong either by the parent or the taker.
Now Y Chromosome DNA testing have confirmed that Jonathan Lunsford line is in fact Lunsford. Also further Autosomal dNA tests find many, many matches to 4-6th cousins on the Wiley Franklin line and the Edward William line giving scientific evidence of the family relationship of James Floyd to Wiley Franklin and Edward William all sons of William Greene.
Conclusion: Solid
