Despite a claim that Thomas died 21 Oct. 1644, "Thomas Lupton" was named along with other earliest proprietors of Branford who were named in town records from 7 July 1646 (dividing up the meadows)[1] However, a record from 16 September 1646 (constructing a 5-mile fence around the core part of the town)[2][3] listed "Christ: Lupton" instead of "Tho: Lupton"

These records are consistent with Thomas Lupton dying sometime between 7 7 July and 16 September 1646.
