Biography

Hannah was born about 1822. She is likely a descendant of the Luptons Lupton-4 who settled near Opequon Creek, Virginia in 1741. They were Quakers who had emigrated from Yorkshire, England to Bucks Co, Pennsylvania and later moved to the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia when it was opened up to settlers.

Hannah’s husband Abraham Parrill was also from a Quaker settler family Parrell-4 who received land grants near Opequon Creek in Frederick County, Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley by Lord Fairfax in 1735.

Both families are mentioned in Quaker Hopewell Monthly Meeting Minutes.

Hannah and Abraham migrated westward with their children to Illinois, settled there and are buried there.
