Durwood was born and grew up in Belton, Texas, served in the army during WWII. Moved to California in 1949, where he worked for Pacific Inter-Mountain Express. He developed a truck chassis which was featured at the 1962 World's fair in Seattle Washington. Durwood (as he liked to be called) and his wife and children moved back to Texas in December of 1974, where they lived in Coleman. Durwood finally succumbed to cancer and passed away at age 69 on 01/12/1990[1]
