Biography

Son of William Joseph Lusk Sr. and Elizabeth Hays / Lusk, Nathan Lust was born in Ireland in 1675.

He and his wife Elizabeth were of Quaker faith. He appears as a Landholder on the 1734-1736 tax rolls in West Nottingham Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Nathan appears on a 1742 list of men serving in Captain John Wilson's Militia company in Augusta County. James Luck also appears on this list.

In 1746 and again in 1747, Nathan Lusk appears in Augusta County court records mentioning "corner to Nathan Lusk adjoining patent lines of Beverley Manor [Deed Book 1:159] and in a record concerning Mathew Young's bond with Nathan (Loosk) and James Asebury for appearance at next Court. [Chalkley, I:530}

After signing his will on 2 Sep 1748, Nathan died on September 14, 1748 in Augusta County, Virginia and is buried in the White Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Stuarts Draft, Augusta, Virginia.Find A Grave: Memorial #89372970. The document was proved 16 Feb 1748/49 by Patrick and Martha Martin. [Chalkley, 1:118]. He name his wife, Elizabeth; son, John; daughter Agness, wife to Mathew Young; son, James Luskā€¦ The next day, James Loosk qualified "as above" with sureties James Phillips.
