Lovina was actually born in Bloomfield NY, but she was born in the part of Bloomfield that became Victor.
Buried in Boughton Hill Cemetery, Victor, Ontario County, New York, USA
Notes by Margaret Gillett Atherton Lovina Lusk Hill is the ancestor through whose obituary I could prove my ancestry to a Revolutionary soldier and become a DAR member. A distant relative, Marjorie Lusk Harske, of Albion had lunch with we Gillett girls probably around 1967 and brought her material about the Lusk family which I Xeroxed and returned. I have a very complete chart of Ashael's children, grandchildren, etc., done about 1930 by Marjorie Lusk Harske's parents.
Ashael Lusk was a pioneer of Victor, New York. Lovina was born there on May 11, 1801. Later, someone started buying nearby property and adding acres every year. Finally, this someone, Gregory Hill, built a cabin and married Lovina on January 26, 1822. They had eight children, of whom Sophia Josephine was the second (and first daughter). Lovina died on October 19, 1872, and Gregory a year later. They built a lovely, large farmhouse across the road in about 1830 or 1840, and we Gillett girls went through a small portion on a trip in 1976 and took pictures of the cobblestone wellhouse and pump.
