Barnet was born in 1826. He was the son of Jakob Luthi and Mary Fox. Uncle Barney, as he was called, made his mone with Leis F. Luthy and family. I remember my mother saying that he helped the younger children dress and comb their hair for school. The following is a copy of the information sent to me by my Aunt Eppah (Mrs. Albert Luthy). She had the original, though it is not known who wrote it. Barnet Luthy was borned in Berkeley Co, Virginia, Mar 6, 1826. Died Sept 18, 1896. Age 70 years, 6 mo. and 12 days. His wife died one year after they were married. He has lived single ever since. He has been a member of the Baptist fifty years. He is buried at New Hope Cemetery near Lebanon, Missouri.
