Biography

Sarah Ruth Luttrell was born on October 30, 1848 in Mulberry, Lincoln County, Tennessee, United States, daughter of Raker Luttrell (~1820–1849) and Elizabeth Cornelia Bready (1829–>1880).

As you can see by the death date of her father and the birth year of Sarah, her father died when she was only 2 years old, leaving her mother a widow at the young age of 21. Sarah (2) is shown in the 1850 Federal Census with her mother Elizabeth Bready (21) living with Elizabeth's parents Alexander Bready (70) head of household, along with Elizabeth's mother and siblings in Lincoln, Tennessee.

Sarah's mother July 18 1858, to James Steadford this is why some census records show her last name as Steadford from this point.

Sarah (26) married Bartlett Wesley Fry (32) (born on January 13, 1843 in San Augustine, Republic of Texas) on August 25, 1875 in Hunt, Texas. Their daughter was Delilah Elizabeth Fry (1881–1968).

Federal Census records from 1880 show Sarah is married with children and her mother Elizabeth and younger sister both last name Steadford living with her in Burleson, Texas.

Sarah died on January 8, 1935 in Webb, Tarrant County, Texas, United States, aged 86.
