Elizabeth Lutz was married, as his second wife, to Christopher Theodore Barnes on September 26, 1861.
Elizabeth died on February 21, 1914 in Stephenson County, Illinois, and was buried with her husband and his first wife in the Lena Burial Park in Lena, Stephenson County, Illinois. A memorial page for her has been established on Find A Grave.
1870 - U.S. Federal Census - By 1870 Christopher Barnes, 52, had remarried. He and his second wife, Elizabeth, 39, were living in West Point, Stephenson County, Illinois. Living with them were Christopher's son Theodore, 22, and daughter, Letitia, 19. Also were their children Laura, 6; Rosamond, 4; and George A, ten months. Also living in the family was a John Shield, 12.[1]
1880 - U.S. Federal Census - In 1880 Christopher, 61, and his family were living in West Point Twp., Stephenson County, Illinois. Included in the household were his wife, Elizabeth, 48; and children, Laura, 16; Rosamond, 13; and George A., 10. Also living in the household was farm laborer Anderson Smith, 25.[2]
