Well where to begin. My father got me into genealogy back in the late 1980s, when he asked me to type out and transcribe some papers he had found. And me being the perfectionist that i am, started making corrections to all the oddly used English on the document. Once i was finished and gave it back to him, well lets just say he had a few things to tell me about making changes to historic documents!
Once it was explained to me by my Dad, i was hooked. I was visiting the archives at every chance available. Before long, like most of us, i had stacks of notebooks. And then, thank goodness, the computer came out! Yup! I loved my floppy disks and my dial up! Then came the internet and i was an info junky. After a few years of learning, i had my own website and many new cousins! My family tree was growing! 28 years later, and now we have a super sized tree and family.

There are category links to add to your ancestor's profiles and research links to learn more about your family. The Project is a good way to consolidate the WikiTree ancestors with historic connections to the years of 1773 (Boston Tea Party) to 1789 (ratification of the U.S. Constitution.) All patriot, loyalist, Hessians, French, Native Americans or any other profiles with a connection to these years should be linked to an appropriate category in the Project.
