Sarah was born in 1839. She is the daughter of James Lyle and Nancy Dalton. By 1850, the family was living in Jackson County, Georgia.[1] The census transcriber has them living with their neighbors, but they were actually in a separate household. Her father, James, worked as a wagon maker. There were seven children at home: Isaac, Elizabeth, Sarah, Jesse, Rebecca, Frances, and Phebe (sic).
The family remained in Jackson County, Georgia, in 1860. Three more children were added by then - James, John, and David.[2]
Sarah, now 31, was still living at home with her parents and siblings in 1870 in Jackson County.[3]
She married Gideon Edwards.
Sarah passed away in 1906. Burial was in the Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery in Hoschton, Jackson County, Georgia.[4]
