John M. Lynn appears as the father on James Shackleford Lynn's death certificate. John himself is listed in a Scioto County, Ohio death register as being born in Ireland to James Lynn and Margaret Lynn and dying of typhoid fever in Portsmouth at the age of 60 in August 1890. No day of death was listed. His residence is listed as 619 Mar. St.^[1]

John was married to Alice (Richardson) Lynn sometime before 1855. In 1860, they were living in Portsmouth and listed in the census as follows ...
