Jean Lyon was the wife of John Lyon of Little Stanmer in Middlesex (b. 1510, son of John Lyon III of Rystippe and Emma Hedde), and they had the following children:[1]

  1. William Lyon (1540)
  2. Elizabeth (1545-1606)
  3. Thomas (1550)

Research notes

The primary source for this profile is confusing, as it seems to identify Jean as being the wife of John Lyon of Little Stanmer in Middlesex (b. 1510, Rystippe), but proceeds to state that Jean Lyon died 5 Apr 1535 and then enumerates the birth dates for their children that have been above shown. For now, the profile continues to have some validity issues, but it is safe to assume that Jean was probably not born nor died on the date shown: she appears to have lived at least until 1550, assuming that the children attributed to her represents a correct interpretation of the sole source.

Rollet-41 17:35, 7 March 2018 (EST): All dates in this family need to be investigated. No dates work with each other.

Besides the clearly identified date problem with her previously assigned parents: Daughter of John Lyon and Elizabeth (Abernathy) Lyon, her maiden surname is likely Unknown and her married name should be Lyon, (assuming that the marriage that is shown is supported by any source).

Father born 1544

Mother born 1530 Daughter Joan born 1510? Doesn't make any sense.

Joan Lyon, can't possibly be the daughter of John Lyon, 8th Lord Glamis and his wife Elizabeth Abernathy, based on chronology alone and it looks like her parents are unknown.

Unless there are other sources I intend to disconnect this profile from her presumed parents. Thank you

Can we please check the relationship? She was born 20-30 years before her alleged "parents".

Is it possible that Joan Lyon and John Lyon, both born in Ruislip in 1510 are the same person, misspelled? BTW Joan's ancestors are completely wrong, as the two generations before her are younger than she is.........
Joan cannot be the child of someone born 30 years after her........can someone fix this??
Joan b. 1510 can't be the daughter of John Lyon b. 1544 it seems doubtful that she is the wife of John Lyon b. 1510 (unless Joan is only her married name or cousins married) while it is possible she was the mother of William Lyon b. 1540
Unknown-239348 and Lyon-1392 appear to represent the same person because: Information on both profiles are the same
