Biography

Elishah was born about 1720. He passed away in 1787.

The supposed father of Elisha is Peter Lyon, but the will of Peter Lyon does not mention an Elisha - it mentions only two sons - Peter and Nicholas.

Elisha Lyon appears in The Database of Lyon(s) Families Association of America. He also shows in a Chart of the Descendants of John Lyon

He was married to Phoebe Nix, daughter of Edward Nix (who had a grandson, Elisha Lyon).

By the descendancy chart Elisha was born 1721. This is a late date for Elisha to be son of the immigrant John Lyon. In fact John Lyon, son of the immigrant John Lyon was old enough to have been the father of Elisha - but no record places Elisha as son of the junior John.

The Database gives his birth as 1720, but that his father was Peter Lyon. The database gives Mary Bailey as second wife of Elisha Lyon. From their union there was an Elisha Lyon (I suppose the necessary grandson of Edward Nix). There is also a daughter Mary Lyon (1744-1765+) who is given as wife of John Bailey.
