Sarah Lyon was born in about 1766 in Lancashire.
Sarah married James Chadwick on 20 Dec 1795 at Rainford Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. Both were of the local parish, and neither had been married before. James was a glassman. The witnesses were James Maken and Peter Birchall.
Their daughter Ellen was born on 17 Jan 1796, and christened on 21 Feb 1796 at St Helens Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was recorded as glassman, and the family's address as Parr.
Their daughter Mary Ann was born on 1 Oct 1797, and christened on 5 Nov 1797 at St Helens Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was recorded as labourer, and the family's address as Parr.
Their son John was born on 7 Apr 1800, and christened on 27 Apr 1800 at St Helens Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. His father's occupation was recorded as labourer, and the family's address as Sutton.
Their daughter Betty was born on 16 Sep 1802, and christened on 10 Oct 1802 at St Helens Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was recorded as labourer, and the family's address as Sutton.
Their son Thomas was born on 1 May 1807, and christened on 5 May 1807 at Tontine Street Wesleyan Chapel in St Helens, Lancashire. Their address was recorded as St Helen.
By June 6th 1841, Sarah was living in Thatto Heath, Eccleston with her married daughter Ellen and family; Sarah was of independent means, in other words she had income from an annuity or some similar form of savings to pay her living costs.
Sarah died in 1847 in Prescot district, aged 80.
