Biography

Ruth Lyons was born in 1827. Ruth married Thomas Henry Newcomb 12 Dec 1848 at Cornwallis, Pereaux, Nova Scotia.[1]

Canada Census records Ruth living at Canning, King's Nova Scotia with husband Thomas Newcomb, Otis Newcomb, 20, Henry Newcomb, 18, Ida Newcomb, 14, Ellen Newcomb, 8, and Rupert Newcomb, 5. [2]

The will of Ruth Newcomb is dated 28 April 1880 and is recorded 21 March 1884. [No. 452, Will books, 1876-1894, Vol 1-2] She describes herself as "Ruth Newcomb of Lower Pero Cornwallis Widow." Her will names the two youngest children Harriett Ellen and Thomas Rupert. [3]. She died in 1884.

Note on merge - "A birth date (Lyons-42 born 26 Feb 1827) should not be within eight months of a sibling's birth date (Lyons-40 born 20 Oct 1826) unless they are twins born within a day of each other."
