Thanks for responding. I have quite a few people in Baldwin County, Alabama, and a couple made it into Mobile County. We may yet find a connection through someone other than the Reeds.

Were your Reeds in Conecuh County? My ancestors include James T. Reed (or Reid) and Nancy Russell. I don't see a DNA match (I checked GEDmatch and Ancestry), but maybe we just didn't get the same segments.
