Biography

Scholastique Leger was born on 1 Mar 1831 and baptized on 13 Mar 1831 in Grande-Digue, New Brunswick, the daughter of Fidele Leger and Marie Babineau.[1][2] Scholastique was born March 1st 1832 per the 1901 Census.[3]

Raphael Poirier, son of François Poirier and Anne Boudreau, of Shediac Parish married Scholastique Legere daughter of Fidele Leger and Marie Babyno of the same parish on January 21st 1850 in Kent, New Brunswick. They had the consent of their fathers. Witnesses were Fidèle Leger and Eustache Poirier. [4][5][6] [7]

A 3rd degree of cansanguinity is noted. Their common ancestors were: Ambroise Poirier and his wife Marie Gaudet as well as René LeBlanc and his wife Anne Thériot.

She passed away on April 24, 1916 in Grande-Digue, New Brunswick.[8]

Census

In 1871 she was French and Catholic living in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[9]

She was living in the same place in 1881.[10]

The Poirier family is living in Dundas parish, Kent, New Brunswick in 1891. Page 1, Lines 1-10.[11]:
