Bénoni was born in Memramcook on 8 Jun 1815. He was the son of Israel Leger and Marguerite Cormier.[1] He married Anne Gaudet, daughter of Emmanuel Gaudet and Anne-Blanche Bourgeois in Memramcook on 11 Jan 1836.[2] He married Marie LeBlanc in Dorchester in 1840.
In 1851, Bénoni and members of his family were enumerated in the Dorchester Parish of Westmorland County as follow: Belona Leshare 56; Mary 41; Shunva 14; Phillamon 12; Ehen 10; Vital 8; Israel 5; Ann 2.
He passed away at age 81 in Dorchester on 4 Jun 1896. (His name is shown as Béloni in the parish register).[3]
