DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Ignace by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA test-takers in his direct paternal line.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
Ignace was b. 24 Aug. 1784 (French Heritage Museum database, Kankakee, IL; Parish registers of St-Pierre-de-la-Riviere-du-Sud, PQ). Only two children listed: Ignace Letourneau, b.1813 & Michel Godfroi Letourneau, b. 25 April 1816, St-Pierre-de-la-Riviere-du-Sud, PQ. Did you find Louis, Genevieve & Nazaire in the church records? I'd like to add them to my tree if they are documented. I believe I have traced his son, Michel Godfroi to Illinois, Kansas, and possibly back to Illinois.
