Biography

Jean Baptiste Menard was born 20 Oct 1728 at two o’clock in the morning and was conditionally baptized the same day in the parish of Notre-Dame, Montréal, Canada, Nouvelle-France. He was the son of Maurice Menard and Françoise Robidoux of the parish of St-Antoine-de-Pade-de-Longueil. His godparents were Jean Baptiste Legras and Angelique Cuillerier. [1]

Jean Baptiste Menard, son of Louis Menard and Françoise Robidoux, and Josephe Roy, daughter of the late Baptiste Roy and the late Clémence Robillard, were married 25 Sep 1751 in the parish of Saint-Joachim-de-la-Pointe-Claire, Pointe-Claire, Canada, Nouvelle-France. Present at the marriage were Louise Clement, Joseph Charlebois, Vincent Chaliard and Jacques Chamaillard. [2]

Jean Baptiste Menard, widower of Marie Josephe Roy, age fifty-one years and the son of the late Louis Menard and the late Françoise Robidoux, and Louise Elisabeth Apert, widow of François Delage, age of thirty-two years and the daughter of the late Jacques Apert and the late Marie Daigneau, were married 18 Aug 1777 in the parish of Notre-Dame, Montréal, Province de Québec. Present at the marriage were Jean Baptiste Menard, Francois Menard, brother, Jean Baptiste Robidoux, cousin, Joseph Degannes, brother-in-law, Jean Marie Mantais, nephew, Jean Marie Raimbout, friend. JB Menard, widower of the late Lizette Lepine, and Marguerite Forcier, widow of the late François Nadeau, were married 3 Apr 1780 in the parish of Saint-Michel-d'Yamaska, Saint-Michel-d'Yamaska, Province de Québec. Present at the marriage for the groom were: Louis Menard, his brother; François Beauchemin, his nephew; JB Goguet; Antoine Beauchemin. Present for the bride were: Jacques Forcier, her brother; François and JB Nadeau, her children; François Guyon; JB Teroux. [4]
