Robert was the son of Robert Maag and Esther Hipp. He was a mechanic.
He married June Augenstein, daughter of George Harry Augenstein and Catherine Rengert, on March 9, 1941. June was killed in a car accident in 1946.
Robert enlisted in the army on June 5, 1944 at Fort Thomas in Newport, Kentucky.
Robert died in November 1977 and was buried in Marion Cemetery in Marion, Ohio.
