Biography

Alexander died on Skye, succeeded by his son.


In 1777 Alexander obtained a tack of Vallay and Malaglet, and 1796 he received a commission of factory for North Uist from Sir Alexander, first Lord Macdonald.

Alexander MacDonald 3rd of Vallay, a Major in the army married his cousin Harriet, daughter of Colin MacDonald, second of Boisdale.
