Naturalization record only lists current residence, not origin.
Neither marriage record has been found
Circumstances unclear about his separation from first wife Janet. His later censuses list him as a Widower, still in upper NH. Her later censuses with the children list her as a Widow, first in Boston and then New York City. They parted ways between the 1900 census and the 1901 birth of Daisy, which suggests a motive.
There are several other Angus MacDonalds running around New Hampshire during this period. That could explain the age discrepancy in 1910, where he doesn't appear with or near any corroborating family members. Unfortunately, his age in 1910 is supported by his age in 1920, where he appears with daughter Daisy.
