William gave an assortment of birth dates on census and other records, with the year ranging from 1845-1853. [1] William gave September 5 1849 on the 1901 census, and his son John supplied November 5 1851 on his death record.
William and Gloriana Foy were married on February 13 1874 in Blackville.[2]
In the 1921 census, William (69) and his wife Glorianna (70) were living in Blackville Parish with John and Jessie.
↑ He was born in 1845 in 1861; 1851 in 1871; 1850 in 1881; 1853 in 1891; 1849 in 1901. There was a baptismal record for him in the Chatham, New Brunswick Anglican church records, dated August 1851. He was not in the 1851 census, unless he was the son named Peter who was not baptized, and who does not appear in later records. Perhaps the "age 16" in the 1861 census should have been "age 10"? This is the date from the 1901 census; however, his baptismal record would indicate he was born before August 1851.
