Biography

John was born in 1884 to John McFarlane and Jane Black.

During WWI, John served as a lieutenant in the Canadian Divisional Cyclist Corps in 1914 before being transferred and promoted to the rank of Captain in the Canadian Forestry Corps. He served in France and passed away in 1919 from influenza in London, England. [1]He has a page on The Canadian Virtual War Memorial [1].
