John and Lucy McGregor Mann sold two actes of property to the Cross Creek Baptist Church for five dollars. The charter membership of the church was organized in 1851. The property surrounding the church was left to John and Lucy's daughter, Martha Burton Mann, who married Joel Harvey Gillum. The property is still in possession of the Gillum descendants.
