Obituary (unknown source):

MARGARET MacINNIS

At West Lake Ainslie, Sept. 3, 1942, the news of the death of Margaret, only daughter of the late Joseph MacInnis, and Mrs. MacInnis (nee Margaret Fraser, Port Hastings) was received with very much regret indeed by her many relatives and friends.

The deceased had not been in good health for some few months and needless to say every care was exercised to procure for her all that medical skill and tender nursing could do. A patient for a short while at St. Martha's Hospital, Ant., even after her return, so cheerfully did she bear her troubles that no one dreamed the end was so near.

Finally, however, it became apparent that death was approaching, and after being consoled by the last rites of the Church she passed peacefully away.

Born at West Lake Ainslie, Oct. 4, 1907, the deceased spent the greater part of her life at home, always willing to render valuable services, not only to her parents and brothers, but also to the Church of which she was a devout member.

She received her early education at the local school, and later for a year at Mount St. Bernard, Antigonish. Margaret Joe, as she was commonly known, possessed a very cheerful disposition and very pleasing personality; an exemplary fine character with all the characteristics of a true Christian. She not only leaves behind her a large number of friends and relatives but an example worthy of notice.

Surviving besides her bereaved mother are three brothers and one adopted girl: Neil, M., Kirkland Lake, ; Charles and Dr. Joseph at home; Helen MacIsaac also at home. One brother, Roderick, predeceased her by a number of years. Her father, the late Joseph MacInnis, who was a brother of Rev. Roderick MacInnis (deceased) also predeceased her by a few years.

The funeral, which was largely attended, took place from her home to Lake Ainslie Chapel, and after requiem high Mass by the pastor, Rev. Samuel Campbell, her remains were conveyed from the church to the grave where they were tenderly laid to rest in the family plot with the pastor also officiating at the graveside. R.I.P.

CARD OF THANKS

Mrs. Margaret MacInnis and family, West Lake Ainslie, wish to express their sincere thanks to their pastor, Rev. Samuel Campbell; and all who sent Mass cards, and all relatives and friends who assisted them in any way in their recent bereavement.
