William Henry MacKie (Henry) was born 3 Apr 1809 (baptised 31 Aug 1809) in Prince Edward Island, Canada, to James MacKie and Jane McEwen. ^[1]

Henry MacKie married Barbara Mackay on 22 July 1864 in Prince Edward Island, Canada.^[2] Henry MacKie and Barbara Mackay had at least five documented children - three boys and a two girls - all born in Prince Edward Island, Canada: Leslie McKie born about 1865; John McKie born about 1867; Boyce McKie born 1869; Matilda McKie born 1871; and Annie McKie born 1874.

Henry MacKie is also recorded in the 1881 census of Canada.^[3] Henry MacKie died between the 1881 Census and 1901 census where Barbara is recorded as a widow.
