Research Notes

Many different sources put Annie's birth in 1833 and many put it in 1825. All of her biographies that I have read so far agree that she was the oldest child of her parents and all seem to agree that they had seven children in all. They married in 1824. Their youngest, Louisa, was born in 1840. The 1833 birth means that James and Helen MacPherson had no children for almost 9 years and then had 7 children in 7 years. I am inclined to believe the 1825 birth (7 children in 15 years). Also, Annie's younger sister, Rachael was born in 1826.
