He was the son of Áedh mac Niall and Mael Muire MacAlpin. He passed away after 0915.[1]

Domnall macAeda aka. Domnall (of Dabhall) Dabaill was the 28th King_of_Ailech [2]

U905.4 Preparation was made for a battle between the two sons of Aed, i.e. Domnall and Niall, and it was prevented through the entreaty of the Cenél Eógain.[3]

He abdicated as King of Ailech in 915 and became a monk or pilgrim [4]
