Máel Mórda Mac Murchada, King of Leinster, was from the Uí Fáeláin (Offaly) sept of the Uí Dúnlainge, in what is now County Kildare. He was the son of Murchad mac Macfinn and the brother of Gormflaith.[1]
Máel-mórda in his turn married Caillech daughter of Dúnlaing; they had at least three knpwn sons.
Máel Mórda struggled for territory with Brian Boru, they fought in the Battle of Glenmama in December 999
Both Máel Mórda and Brian Boru died in the Battle of Clontarf, fought on Good Friday in 1014.
His son Bran succeeded him as a Uí Fáeláin King of Leinster 1016-1018 [2]
