Biography

Ann (Gaelic name: Anna) was born c1800 in Garrabost.

She married Malcolm 'Callium Taillear' Macdonald from Garrabost.

Initially the couple lived in Garrabost where their first two children, John and Mary, were born.

About 1824/5 Ann and Malcolm moved to the new settlement of Portnaguran as croft tenants.

They lived at Croft No 13 Port nan Giuran, where their third child, Alexander, was born.

Ann died shortly after Alexander's birth in 1825.

Ann died before the statutory registration of deaths came into force (1855). It has not been possible thus far to determine which branch of Macdonalds from Garrabost she belonged to.
