In 1851, he emigrated with wife and children from the Western Isles of Scotland to the Eastern Townships of Quebec.^[3]

In 1851, he was living in Bury, Sherbrooke, Canada East.^[4]

In 1861, he was living in Winslow, Compton, Canada East.^[5]

He is said to have died on 30 Dec 1884 in Quebec, Canada
